01 — Which path will you take?

The crown. Or the caravan.

Armies are not the only way to cross a border.
See the same cities and roads through a different lens.

THE CROWN01

Ruler mode

Build a kingdom.
Change its destiny.

Develop your cities, recruit capable people, and lead your armies. Bring government, warfare, and diplomacy together to carry your banner across the world.

  • Balance agriculture, commerce, and public loyalty
  • Match talented people to the offices they suit
  • Read the roads, prepare supplies, and choose your campaigns

Your goal: control every city and defeat the remaining enemy armies.

THE CARAVAN02

Merchant mode

Start a business.
Connect a world.

Begin with a trading house in a single city. Ship grain and textiles, watch prices, and grow a business across borders while the kingdoms around you wage war.

  • Weigh purchase prices, freight, and expected returns
  • Open branches in cities you have delivered to
  • Navigate wartime closures: wait, return, or reroute

Your goal: reach 5 branches, including your home, and 50,000 cash within 3,600 days.

03 — Every decision begins on the map

A road ahead.
A move to make.

Select a city. Understand its strength. Trace the roads beyond it. War and commerce meet on the same map, in a strategy game that spans east and west.

War changes the trade.

Borders and roads can close as kingdoms fight. A distant conflict may change your next destination—and the return on your cargo.

FAQ

Before you set out.

What kind of game is this?

A single-player historical browser strategy game. Govern cities, wage war, and conduct diplomacy as a ruler, or build an independent trading house as a merchant. There is no multiplayer or PvP mode.

Do I need to download anything or create an account?

No. Select “Play now” to begin in your browser, on desktop or mobile. No account is required. You can currently play without making a payment.

How do saves work?

The game autosaves in your browser. “Saves & settings” also provides manual local saves, file export and import, and cloud saves. Cloud saving is manual; use your recovery key to resume a cloud save on another device.

What happens to my existing progress?

If you already played on crowncaravan.app, use “Play now” in the same browser to load your autosave. For progress on the former workers.dev address, export a save or retrieve your cloud recovery key from “Saves & settings” at that old address first.

Does one campaign run from ancient China to the Middle Ages?

Each starting date is an independent scenario. There are 34 starting points from 651 BCE to 1368 CE. Historical dynastic changes do not happen automatically during play.

How closely does it follow history?

The game includes historically sourced figures and explicitly identified fictional supporting characters. Abilities, assignments, borders, economies, and roads include gameplay abstractions. Scenario notes and character records explain more inside the game.

Which languages can I play in?

Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. You can switch languages during play without starting a new save.
